Copy space explained
Copy space literally means leaving space in an image so “copy” aka "text" can be added to the image. For example, you may want to add your logo, a headline or a call to action.
Copy space is important as it will ensure your image doesn't look too busy and/or detract from your message. This copy space area can be a plain white background, or simply an uncluttered area of the image.
How to find an image with copy space?
When searching for an image where you want to include a message, try adding the keywords “copy space” to your search. If you want the space in a particular area you could include additional keywords such as “vertical”, “horizontal”, “left” or “right”. If you wanted a particular type of space, such as a plain white background or a rustic wood try adding keywords such as “white background” or “rustic wood”.
